To benefit the next generation, online learning must include mobile learning, e-gaming, online communities, and learning management systems that engage each user (Anderson, Terry, 2004). Walden University students contribute to the learning community through expressed opinions and shared experiences. Ref: Anderson, T.,(2010). The Theory and Practice of Online Learning. While working through this assignment, I stumbled on a couple of tools that proved to be helpful. The first is "Personal Brain" which is good for mind mapping and you can get a free trial. I'll send a copy of my mind map via email,( Couldn't figure out how to post it here). You'll have to download the application in order to see the map I created. It only allows me to zip the file and email. Above is a PDF file I was able to convert to HTML via a website that allows uploads and conversion (See http://www.docstoc.com/upload/ ). Hope this helps someone, it certainly did me!
ReplyDeleteHi Sondra: I was wondering if you think these catagories are discrete or is the overlap among the items in each category. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks for your response! In terms of the categories, there is overlap. Several of the elements listed have dual functionality which creates the appearance of overlapping functions..
Sondra,
ReplyDeleteYour mind map looks great. You named several ways to collaborate through the usage of technology. What do you think are some of the advantages of collaborating through technology. What are some of the disadvantages?
Deidre,
ReplyDeleteThe biggest advantage is convenience and cost. On the other hand, one must be technically savvy to take full advantage of the tools that are available.
